Знов зозулі голос чути в лісі,Ластівки гніздечко звили в стрісі.А вівчар жене отару плаєм,Тьохнув пісню соловей за гаєм

Всюди буйно квітне черемшинаМов до шлюбу вбралася калина.Вівчара в садочку,В тихому куточку,Жде дівчина, жде.

Йшла вона в садок повз осокори,Задивилась на високі гори,Де з беріз спадають чисті роси,Цвіт калини приколола в коси.

Вже за обрій сонечко сідає.З полонини їй вівчар співає:— Я прийду до тебе, як отаруЗ водопою зажену в кошару.

Ось і вечір, вівці біля бродуЗ Черемоша п'ють холодну воду,У садочку вівчара стрічаєДівчинонька, що його кохає.

Cheremishna - The Choke Cherry

Again we can hear the cuckoo in the woods,The swallows, their nests, do weave beneath the eaves.And the shephard, his flock, herds down mountain pathways,Chirps a song, the nightingale, in the grove.

Chorus:Everywhere, wildly blooms the Choke CherryAs if a bride, the Kalyna is adorned.The shepherd's in the orchard,And in a quiet corner,Awaits, a maiden waits.

She walked along the reeds into the orchard,And had gazed upon the tall mountains,Where from the birches falls, the (pure dew) morning dew,The Kalyna's bloom, pinned into her braid.

Already behind the bluffs the sun is setting.From the pasture sings to her the shephard:-I will come to you, when my flockWill be watered and led into their pen.

Alas it's evening, the sheep stand beside the riverFrom the Cheremosha, drink in it's cold water,And in the orchard, meets the the shephardThe young maiden who, so dearly loves him.
