The great jump
I have jumped, a weird jump,that has risen us more than three spans.It was smoke coming out of it, so thick and white,inside of it, you and me and my great jump.
We were scared while looking downwe were scared and we've remainedholding each other, feeling the jumpleaking out of our hands.
The eye witnenssessay "what a jump, God what a jump!";the mothers say to their kids"don't get closer, they have jumped!".
It was you and me and the world apartand now is the world that will save usin the ruins of this jump,that were you and me, but now not so much.
This is falling, this is falling,I shout your name through the white smoke"Hold me tight and, if you can, fallwith both feet and in a flat place".
And we deserved a farewellmore worthy to be rememberedand not seeing us destroyedby the force of the gravity.
You jumper who jump jumps,you professional leaper!You, friend, forever wanderer,defined by your jumps!
How easy is everything! How good you are!In your shining eyesone can sense the immensityof a whole world at your reach.
Night will come, night will come,night will come and you'll uncovera sweet and rusty dreamof jumpers jumping jumps.
And see you tomorrow, see you tomorrow,outside a soft wind blows,and the jumper will fall asleepwith face of nothing,with face of jump.
Il grande salto
Ho fatto un salto, un salto stranoche ci ha alzati di più di tre palmi.Usciva fumo, tanto denso e bianco,e dentro tu e io e il mio grande salto.
Avevamo paura guardando giù,avevamo paura e siamo rimastimezzi abbracciati, sentendo il saltoscivolarmi dalle mani.
I testimoni ocularidicono "che salto, caspita che salto";le madri dicono ai bambini"non vi avvicinate che ha fatto un salto!".
Eravamo io e te ed il mondo da partee ora è il mondo che ci salveràtra le rovine di questo salto,che eravamo io e te ed ora non lo siamo così tanto.
Occhio che cado, bambini! Occhio che cado!Urlo il tuo nome tra il fumo bianco."Tieniti forte e, se puoi, cadicon i due piedi su una superficie piana".
E meritavamo un commiatopiù degno di essere ricordatoe non questo vederci distruttidalla forza della gravità.
Tu, saltatore che salti salti!Tu, arrampicatore professionale!Tu, amico per sempre ambulanteche ti definisci con i tuoi salti!
Che facile è tutto! Come stai bene!Nei tuoi occhi illuminatisi intuisce già l'immensitàdi tutto un mondo alla tua portata.
Cadrà la notte, cadrà la notte,cadrà la notte e tu faraiun sogno dolce e stropicciatodei saltatori che saltano salti.
E a domani, a domani,e, fuori, soffia un vento così leggero,e il saltatore si addormenteràcome se niente fosse,come se fosse un salto.
