Atahualpa Yupanqui "El Poeta" lyrics

The Poet

You believe you’re different, because they call you poet, and you have a world apart, beyond the stars.

From looking at the moon so much, you can’t look anything else. You’re like a poor blind, who doesn’t know where to go.

Go look at the miners, the men of the wheat field, and sing to those who fight, for a piece of bread.

Poet of certain rhymes:go live in the jungle, and you’ll learn lots of things,of the lumberjack and his miseries.

Live together with the people;don’t stare it from outside, because first comes the man,and second, the poet.

From looking at the moon so much, you can’t look anything else. You’re like a poor blind, who doesn’t know where to go.

Go look at the miners, the men of the wheat field, and sing to those who fight, for a piece of bread.
