Me, Him and Her
1I met some womanin a pub in Verziere road;when the time was right,she invited me in bed with her.But right in the thick of it, when both of uswere chatting very comfortably,we heard someone who was shouting,who was knocking hard at the door.
Get out really quick:«Oh God, it’s my husband…he’s going to make a fuss,what am I gonna do?… Oh dear!»
I was all frightened, it was very cold,I was wearing just my shirt, my teeth were chattering;I dashed under the bed, no less.Oh, I was so scared! Oh, I was so scared!
She opens up and he gets in,she tries to be smart:«I have a bad stomach ache,go buy me something at the chemist’s».‹It’s nothing, it’s a trifle,it’s probably just a bit of heat:I’ll make you a lemonade,it’ll get rid of the pain›.
I heard him taking his trousers off,then he went into bed with her,and I was there - damn it -shaking from head to foot!
And then I heard every single word they were saying,then I heard every single thing they were doing,while they were frolicking in bed,my feet were freezing, my feet were freezing.
At one moment,I heard him searchingfor the chamber pot,right were I was.All of a sudden, he grabs my footand he pulls me out [from under] the bed,I am so scared that I lose everything,and I’m left naked with just my socks on.
He was shouting and I was praying,it was a picture of Turchino;2the noise woke upthe doorman and the residents.
They all ran upstairs hastily- men, women and children, in their nightdress, even -and they pounded me like a cutlet.Oh, what a bummer! Oh, what a bummer!
‟Respect your fellow man’s woman”this my poor grandma used to say;and I was a knucklehead and didn’t listen to her,and I got my retribution!
Io lui e lei
1Ho incontrato una certa tiziain un’osteria in via Verziere;2quando è stata l’ora propizia,mi invita a letto con lei.Ma nel bello che stavamo chiacchierandotutti e due come niente fosse,sentiamo uno che urlava,che picchiava forte all’uscio.
Salta fuori di volata:«Oh Signore, è mio marito…Chissà adesso che strapazzata,3cosa faccio?… Povera me!»
Io, tutto spaventato, con il freddo che faceva,mezzo in camicia, coi denti che battevano,sono scappato addirittura sotto al letto.Ohei, che paura! Ohei, che paura!
Lei gli apre e lui entra,lei, furbona, gli fa:«Ho un gran dolore al ventre,vai a prendere qualcosa dal farmacista».‹Non è niente, è una sciocchezza,avrai soltanto un po’ di calore:ti farò una limonata,passeranno tutti i dolori›.
L’ho sentito togliersi i calzoni,poi andare a letto insieme a lei,e io lì, porco cane,a tremare da capo a piedi!
E poi ho sentito proprio tutto quello che dicevano,poi ho sentito anche tutto quello che facevano,intanto che loro nel letto ruzzavano,i miei piedi gelavano, i miei piedi gelavano.
Ho sentito che lui cercaval’orinale lì per lì,ho sentito che rovistavaproprio dove ero io.Tutto a un tratto, il piede mi prendee tira forte fuori dal letto,a me dallo spavento sfugge tuttoe resto nudo coi calzini.
Lui urlava e io pregavo,era un quadro del Turchino;4dal baccano si erano svegliatiil portinaio e gl’inquilini.
Sono corsi di sopra tutti quanti di fretta,uomini, donne e bambini, in camicia addirittura,e mi hanno pestato come una cotoletta.Ohei, che disdetta! Ohei, che disdetta!
‟Del prossimo tuo rispetta la donna”,così diceva la mia povera nonna;e io testone che non l’ho ascoltata,l’ho presa la strigliata!
