The Park
Let me walk a while aloneAmong the sacred rocks and stonesLet me look in vain beliefUpon the beauty of each leaf
There is green in every bladeThe tree tops lean providing shadeMaypoles spin in happy soundAll nature's strength around
And there's a horse that feels no painIts iron strength to take the strainChildren rock it to and froAnd gaily drink its colour-glow
Above, the sky, devoid of cloudThinks not to cast a thunder shroudUpon this place so full of joyA field of gold of loves employ
So, why my heavy heart? You sayWhen tears would stainThe sights so gayMy brother's dreams once here did soarUntil he died at the handOf needless war
