Psalm 1 (O greatly blessed is the man)
Verse 1O greatly blessed is the manWho walketh not astrayIn counsel of ungodly men,Nor stands in sinners' way,
Verse 2Nor sitteth in the scorner's chair,But placeth his delightUpon God's law, and meditatesOn His law day and night.
Verse 3He shall be like a tree that growsSet by the waterside,Which in its season yields its fruit,And green its leaves abide;
Verse 4And all he does shall prosper well.The wicked are not so,But are like chaff which by the windIs driven to and fro.
Verse 5In judgement therefore shall not standSuch as ungodly are,Nor in th'assembly of the justShall wicked men appear.
Verse 6Because the way of godly menIs to Jehovah known;Whereas the way of wicked menShall quite be overthrown.
